Deep Body Recovery - two hours for a body that’s been holding on
That knot under your shoulder blade. The hip that tightens every time work gets busy. It's easy to think of these as purely physical problems. They are physical, but that's only half the story.
Every muscle you have takes its orders from your nervous system. When life asks a lot of you for a long time, your brain quietly switches into protection mode and tells your body to brace. Shoulders creep up. The jaw sets. Muscles around old injuries stay half-switched-on, just in case. This is called guarding: your body doing its job a little too well.
If I only work on the tight muscle, your brain hasn't yet been convinced it's safe to let go. So a few days later, the same spot tightens up again.
Deep Body Recovery is built to close this gap. This deeply soothing, two-hour experience is created for anyone who feels the weight of a demanding schedule and is looking for physical relief that actually lasts. By combining focused, hands-on remedial work with specialised nervous system techniques, we release your tightest muscles - creating a reassuring space where your brain feels safe enough to lower its defences.
With your body, mind and nervous system on board, results are deeper and last longer.
How the two hours unfold:
Arrive: aromatic breath
We begin with deep, conscious breaths of an organic, grounding oil blend to bring your body to the table.
Warmth first - heated stones
Smooth heated stones are placed along your spine to dissolve deep-seated tightness.
Weight and stillness: deep pressure grounding
We lay a weighted blanket over your body alongside a firm, stationary hold on your sacrum. This deep pressure touch signals a calm release, lowering stress hormones and bringing a reassuring sense of safety to your physical body.
The real work: 80 mins of focused remedial massage
Once your body has stopped bracing, it can take in deeper work. This is the heart of the session: 80 minutes on your areas. The old injury, the chronic tightness, the spot you keep pressing with your thumb at your desk. I work slowly and specifically to release stubborn knots and give your muscles back their ease of movement.
Letting it land: rhythmic rocking
Following the remedial work, we introduce a gentle, rhythmic, and completely predictable side-to-side rocking movement. This consistent wave of motion signals total safety to your brain, allowing your muscles to ease the guarding and absorb the physical work.
Somatic Sweeping: Here’s where we bring your body back into feeling like one piece again, treating your skin as an extension of your brain. Incredibly slow, continuous full-body strokes soothe your superficial nerve endings, integrating your mind and body into a singular, calm state.
Head, neck and jaw: cranial & vagus nerve release
We finish where most of us hold the most: the base of the skull, the neck, the jaw and around the ears. Slow, soothing work here eases facial and jaw tension and supports the vagus nerve, the main pathway your body uses to shift into rest. This is often where the last layer lets go.
Stillness: the quiet transition
To complete your recovery you’ll have a weighted mask to soothe the eyes and we’ll leave you in stillness to absorb and integrate the session.
You'll walk out feeling whole again: loose and steady, with relief that lasts long after you've left the room.
See you on the table
